Babysitting Course Information:
1 day (6 hours) designed for young adolescents, 12 years and up. (If your child is 11 years old please call for more information).
Course Fee: $75 per child (additional $5 if your child wishes to have the Certified CPR card from American Heart Association).
Class time 9:00a.m.-3:00p.m.
Participants will learn:
CPR and First Aid techniques child/infant- Following American Heart Association guidelines(2 year certification) – Heimlich maneuver for choking patients – Following American Heart Association guidelines
Injury prevention and injury management
Recognize safety issues and learn how to respond in emergency situations.
How to interact with different age levels and how to handle behavioral situations effectively.
We will be preparing lunch in our kitchen as they learn how to make simple dinners and snacks appropriate for toddlers, as well as warming bottles and infant meals.
How to start their own babysitting business, build a babysitting resume and go through an interview process to be part of the on-line Children’s Safety Village Babysitter Referral Program.
Students should bring these items to class with them:
A snack or sack lunch (we will be cooking lunch but some may want their own in case of allergies, etc) – A pad of paper if you wish to take notes
