The Chautauqua Children’s Safety Education Village is extremely excited to announce that it is getting closer to offering an interactive floor experience for the children that participate in programming. This one of a kind software and equipment can convert any space into an unforgettable fun-filled learning experience that engages all participants. The Children’s Safety Village believes children learn best from hands on activities and follows the motto: “What I see I may forget, what I hear I may not remember, but what I do, I understand.” The interactive floor system will be a huge asset to the Children’s Safety Village and staff are looking forward to a time in the near future where children can take their class engagement to a whole new level.
None of this would be possible without the generous funding provided to us through the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation Blossom Fund. We are thankful for the opportunity to enhance our programming. Since opening in 2010, we have now trained over 26,000 students. The Safety Village classes have grown from the 3 main Traffic, Fire and Bike Classes into 10 classes including, American Heart Association First Aid, CPR & AED training, First Aid/Emergency Response for 4-6th grades, Internet Safety, 6 Hour Babysitting Course, In-school Child Care/First Aid Course (Middle Schools) & Distracted Driving. We will continue to strive to be the hub of safety for our community and thank the people who have generously helped us get to where we are today.
